Hi all

I have non modded ba xrt and getting very high fuel consumption.. about 19.3L and getting about 300km to a tank (with grandpa driving) I have checked the short fuel trim (shft2) and it is 33% which I know is very high! Vehicle doesn't run or idle rough. Swapped upstream o2 sensor, new fuel filter, plugs and different cam angle sensor on the exhaust (had codes for timing over advanced) inlet is also tight. Does anybody have any ideas why the fuel trim is high or any suggestions?

Thanks

Have rest the ecu multiple times and within a few minutes back up high. If it was a blocked cat should its performance be lacking? It boosts quite hard though

I think I found the problem. Always wondered why boost would be there and not at other times.

It turns out the exhaust camshaft wiring was resting on the exhaust manifold and melted both wiring insulations and grounding out at times. Gone to be a fun job repairing it.

Hopefully economy gets better too

Cant say I know of any vacuum hoses that run near anything hot. I did the inlet manifold gasket around the time I was looking for the fault.
