hi guys

test fitted my rears today as I'm looking at getting some falken fk453 in 285/35s. guards are going to be rolled on wednesday and im planning on keeping the stock height for now

the rim is a snug fit inside and this knuckle is actually inside the rim with the one on the far right (east) being the closest one at round 5 to 8mm to the rim ( Ignore the circles, I reused a pic winstor posted to give you an idea but the knuckle is actually the one on the 'eastern' spot). im hoping this wont be a problem as I couldn't tell if it would actually touch when loaded up

just wanted opinions whether it would scrub with the 285s after rolling. ive heard there's not much that can be gained from a roll, maybe a few mms of space so considering a camber kit for the rear if that doesn't work

cheers!

That's gonna poke using those pics. Tyres should be fine on the inside and same with the outside at stock height.

Camber kit won't really be necessary at stock height because when the suspension loads up on bumps etc it is going to create a lot of negative camber. Plus will be kind of pointless going such a big tyre and running neg camber won't it?

Thanks bellato, yeah the camber kit is kinda last resort but if it doesn't scrub after the roll then I'd probably skip it.

I think the lip that's sticking out will actually go in partially when it's loaded up but yes it will still poke slightly

I'm worried about that knuckle as it's damn close to a part of the rim that sorta goes inward midway of the rim.

Was wondering if there's others that have found this with 18s and want to know if it rubbed or not

hey guys got more pics of the lower trailing arm / knuckle with the wheel on. I've circled the parts im worried about in red

just want to know if there's a chance the trailing arm or swaybar link will rub as there's less than 10mm between it and the inner part of the rim

the trailing arm and swaybar end link actually sits inside the 18x10 rim

Thanks bellato, went ahead and ordered the 285 tyres

PhillB from Jdmst came around yesterday and he had a look while he was rolling the guards and said the same thing

Just thought I'd ask on the forum for good measure before ordering the 285s.

Final pics coming soon stay tuned!

the 285s fit but just barely (probably 5 to 10mm clearance to shock)

Final thoughts after installing 285s --- It felt like the car lost 20KW just after fitting these tyres! There's just so much grip available but punch it from a complete stop at the lights and the car still hauls ass lol.

No scrubbing or issues with turning, etc either which was a relief. Even after chucking it into a few roundabouts at speed it felt stable and no scrubbing or smell of burnt tyre from scrubbing

Thanks mate yeah I'm thinking about lowering but it might make the rears foul against that lower trailing arm when the geometry changes

Camber arms are probably on the cards though as the rear poke is really noticeable up close and cops will spot that right away in an rbt
