MSD tach driver wired into one of the coil pack wires to give you a signal or if you can find one a ford motorsport tach driver wired into the crank angle sensor

I run a ford motorsport driver in mine. RPM displayed is spot on as per obd2 scanner RPM, but funnily enough the factory tacho is out aprox 80 rpm
