my ba xr6t (stock) had a similar prob, when taking off from a stand still and at about 3000rpm after it changed gears it started shuddering and missing badly (like it was running on 4) pulled over and it was bad, then just restarted car and it was fine and didnt do it again. I never found out the problem but its been ages and a hell of allot of hard accelerations since then and its fine.

did this to me about 6 times over a 6 month period, I was thinking coils but they "seem fine" as it has not done it since

I have a similar problem, as soon as my boost starts winding up the car backfires and breaks down and then goes into a shake almost like it is in a 'safe mode' then afew revs gets it back to normal, happens to me as soon as I come into boost..

Mine did that making 400kw on stock springs when I hit limiter, I checked the error code and it was a cylinder misfire. Changed valve springs and its never happened since...

I have similar thing, when I shift it to manual so it holds gears, when I give it a good hard squirt so it gets high up in the revs and maybe stay foot in it for a few seconds, when I release the throttle and the revs come back down it runs on 5 maybe 4 cylinders for around 5 seconds... I have had BC valve springs fitted so it can't be valve pump.... Or can it still?
