Hey thanks again everyone, yeah I love the thing and I am now a convert....no more cheaply put together crap with a Lion on it for me, especailly now they're sacking another 4 or 500 people

AusAnt, I saw a reply you made in another post and because of the xr6t photo you use as a profile picture, that made me go out and take a snap of my badge and use that.

Small world.

Yea I heard that on the radio. Yesterday would not have been a good day for 400 south Aussies. My old man was in precision measurement at Mitsies and as an older fella he found himself picking grapes and doing sh*t work for a while before he could land another job doing what he was trained for. Even then, it wasn't the same. Unfortunately lots of south Aussies will be forced to the mining industry. They would likely get paid more but I'm sure most would rather not uproot their lives.

I just put my name down for a Dyno Day that ford_boy4l posted on the SA Members thread.

It's to be held in May. I know this thing has a bit of power but I would like to see it in writing because ANGEL#3 mentioned that once I get the mod bug, I'll be gone and the bug is already starting to bite so it'll be good to look back in a couple of years and see what it was like back when I first bought it.

After reading so many posts about what to do with the turbo, I think you hit it on the head perfectly with 10 words.

Welcome aboard Ben. Your story is a common one. I too was looking and buying another SS, and a freind convinced me to test drive an FG XR6T. I was amazed with how well, and the smooth acceleration was. I really wanted the SS (VE) but common sense and logic dictated that lower fuel, insurance and rego costs made the decision easy. Now that I have tuned the car, I am 100% happy with my final decision after over 2 years of owing it. Reliability with these cars is very dependant on using quality lubricants, regularly. Nice buy and happy motoring.

Cheers

Hey thanks Impellor

You know I thought my mechanic was trying to get at me a bit when he told me about servicing it so I hit the forum and found a couple of posts saying to use the "best" for the turbo and now you tell me the same thing.

See, this is why I really enjoy this site, no crap, no ego - just good honest feedback and advice from the people that know this product the best ----- The Owners -----

Thanks again

Don
