Yesterday would not have been a good day for 400 south Aussies. My old man was in precision measurement at Mitsies and as an older fella he found himself picking grapes and doing sh*t work for a while before he could land another job doing what he was trained for. Even then, it wasn't the same. Unfortunately lots of south Aussies will be forced to the mining industry. They would likely get paid more but I'm sure most would rather not uproot their lives. I too was looking and buying another SS, and a freind convinced me to test drive an FG XR6T. I was amazed with how well, and the smooth acceleration was. I really wanted the SS (VE) but common sense and logic dictated that lower fuel, insurance and rego costs made the decision easy. Now that I have tuned the car, I am 100% happy with my final decision after over 2 years of owing it. Reliability with these cars is very dependant on using quality lubricants, regularly.
