With the TV I purchased a Blu ray player with a $200 HDMI cable to connect it up.. Cable was double the price of the player.. Yeah go figure..Anyhow my question is.. What am I doing wrong? Or do I need a decent home audio setup to fully appreciate Blu ray?I've got a massive DVD collection.. And Quite impressed with how the DVD looked on the TV (only watched The Expendables so far).. So out of curiosity I picked up Sherlock Holmes and Taken on Blu Ray.. I didn't really notice that much difference in picture quality.. Or do I have to watch a DVD of one movie then immediately follow it with the Blu Ray version to notice the difference?Do I need to try some other Blu Ray movies? We got an LG Blu ray player with exactly that a 'monster' HDMI cable with some lifetime warranty etc..I guess it's not so bad since the price diff between BR and DVD discs isn't as much as a couple years back..But exactly that.. Feel a bit underwhelmed..

Natively DVD has a much lower resolution and doesn't have HD audio like bluray.

Audio don't mean too much to me.. As most things I watch have subtitles.. Unless there are no other people in the house or neighbouring houses...Without sounding too picky... I just wanted to know if anyone was wowed by the picture quality first time they watched Blu ray?
