Interesting topic but I think op needs to be more specific in what he wants because std cams and std VCT is more than sufficient

Just dial in more overlap VCT FTW

well im only getting cams solely because I want it to be lumpy at idle (on the edge of stalling lol) and I know that referrs to lobe centres being further apart but if I were to get cams I would want something with high duration and something around a 500ish lift for that little bit of extra power

I thought cams to suit a turbo are designed to give u good down low and midrange?? I was considering atomic stage 4 but I was comparing them to the crow 591 cams and crow seem to have a slighty bigger duration and wider (113) lobe centers which would give it a lumpier idle. I couldnt care how thirsty it is it only gets driven on weekends

nooo I love u more

Crow cams are usually stated at total duration not actual measured duration ( less 50tho ) we have VCT so we have brilliant down low clean idle with small overlap to keep emitions in check yet can move 250o within 0.5 of a second to have massive overlap and big torque spread

Big cams do nothing but come into there own on huge hp situations 1000hp+

Why would I sacrifice all of that driveability for a low vacuume situation with crap brakes at crawling speeds and shocking torque either down low or up top ( u cant have both ) but u can with VCT

Big cams and vct can happen but u wont get the effects your after ( way cool lump man )

Actually I just checked the atomic site. The stage 4 cams are duophased now as well. Also looking at the specs, the 4+ will be a bit lumpy. Even with the staggered valve timing. The 4's could almost sound stock.

Pretty sure a mate down here has 4's in his turbo ute. I'll try get a video.
