Hey

A couple weeks ago my cars original turbo died on my bf2 turbo.

I had an earls oil line fitted a long time ago. Turns out thefactory lilittle filter wasnt removed lol and it blocked up. The turbo was getting absolutely no oil.

So removed filter. Serviced earls in line filter, then checked for flow (by removing line at turbo and starting car. Oil flowed out unrestricted). Chucked a "rebuilt" turbo in.

The turbo was bought off a private bloke. Said to have been rebuilt. I got a turbo place to have a quick inspection of it. They were happy with it. So I used it.

That was on Sunday it went on and car was back on road. Had a service at the same time to.

Tonight going for a drive in it. It made a weird supercharger type noise when I tried hitting boost. I backed off straight away. Then tried again. All good. But the next time nope. No boost. Really loose bearing noise again. Exact same noise as before.

Drove home . And that's where it is atm.

Ill pull off the oil line again. I cant imagine it being blocked again.

If it is blocked yet again. What the hell can be blocking it?

If there is oil getting to the turbo then I guess I got a dodgy turbo. But is there other reasons besides oil that could cause it to fail?

It has 125, 000km

Car is serviced wwith quality oil every 7000km. Idled before turned off everytime.

Car runs 15psi boost- could it be tune related? I really doubt it.

Any ideas or help or opinions would be much appreciated

Yeah got an oil pressure gauge.

It is located on a joiner to the turbo line. Ive been suss about the pressure though. Ive never known what it should be at. Cold idle its about 40-50. Hot idle its 0. When driving hot it only really gets to 30. Never really bothered to look into it cos I had it put it when first got car. So thought was normal.

Im going to check for blockage today. When rain stops.

The car ran at 12 psi for almost a year and about a month before first turbo failure it got retuned to 15 psi. AND I removed bov.

What can I do to find out if its tune related?

I guess firstly ill check if it gets oil

And might relocate oil pressure gauge sender to turbo side of oil line

Check if its getting oil and if its getting coolant, but 0 pressure when hot is not good, on hot idol I'm seeing about 30psi when giving it a boot full when hot it only really sees about 50psi... I think you have an oil pressure problem
