MITCH-JOSH New Member 5 Member For: 11y 8m Posted 25/03/13 04:25 AM Share Posted 25/03/13 04:25 AM Hi guys, I have a November 03 build auto xr6t with 170000 Klms, completely stock other than 20" wheels, as of late it has started to what I believe is overboost, feels like I'm hitting rev limiter and loss of power but it's no where near limiter, also as on Friday I experienced the engine light come on and it went into limp mode and upon stopping the whole car was shaking like as if the engine was labouring up, turned the car off and it started back up fine and I parked it and haven't touched it since then, I have done a little research about the what I believe is overboosting and every thread their hasn't been a definite answer wether it was plug gap or the wastegate actuator, coil packs or a fuel issue, I'm going to get ford to run a scan to see what the fault was/is but just am seeing if anyone else has experienced this and has an answer or for where I should look before I get a mechanic to touch it, thanks for your time Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I had the same thing happen to my car.You can either try and clean it with carby cleaner or get a second hand one from FTG Autosalvage for $80. phtmt6ute Member 30 Member For: 15y 10m 26d Gender: Male Location: Central Coast NSW Posted 25/03/13 09:23 AM Share Posted 25/03/13 09:23 AM ive 130,000 on my june04 build ba xr6t and about 250klms ago it started shuddering under load at low revs , I had it at my mechanics for a service before chrissy and it didnt happen for him ( of course ! ) I checked and double checked hoses and little tips on here ( checking threads ) it ended up being the coil packs . since there've been done its been like a new car ! and when it got done they found a split on one of the hoses that was letting extra air in too , running heaps better now .
