hey everyone

I couldn't really find much info to help me out so I thought that getting my question out there might help me out a bit more....

question is I'am currently in the middle of buying a brand new xr6 n/a ute from ford, I test drove one which had 0 kms on the clock and upon start up there was a loud clicking noise coming from the engine bay.

I had the car for about 20 minutes and during that period I pulled over to inspect said noise, I cant quite pinpoint where it comes from I just know the sound is coming from the general engine area as I'am not overly familiar with the FG or any Falcon engine bay for that matter. Once I got back to the dealership I told the salesmen about the noise we both had a look over the engine bay and he told me he would get it inspected if I was keen on the car. 2 days later and the salesman along with the mechanic have both called me to say that the noise is due to injectors and because the car is brand new and never driven and that in a short period of time it will just eventually disappear and there will be no noise.

Any thoughts and comments would be much appreciated as I have never been in this position. I' am not overly keen on shelling out hard earned cash for something that is already having injector (or whatever the hell it is) issues.

cheers people!

Update for the one person who did care....noise seems to have settled down however its one of those things that once you know that it's there you could pick it a mile away.

You are right but worst case is warranty just didn't really want to go down that route.

thanks anyway!
