I have heard that it's more faimly friendly now which is great.I would stay just outside from the track as who's to know what time the campers at the top of the mountian get to bed.Good topic interested to find out also.

I'd snap up the same site again in a heartbeat if they offer them again. Cost was only $50 per person for the whole stay (wed - monday) and an additional $20 for the site! We had full access to the sports grounds change rooms, cooked breakfast at very affordable prices. Only a 5 minute walk to the main street, pubs, shops etc and a free shuttlebus to and from the track each day.I reckon G.A is the go for bathurst - with a pitpass. So many good viewing spots up top. Just take a campchair and move around. For race day we got there only an hour before race start and got a gourmet spot on skyline. stayed there all day. The other days we walked all over the mountain. viewing I amazing wherever you go.IMO you'd be mad to sit in the grandstand for the 4 days (having done it).

The hardest part is getting a site up there, if you have a site up the top of the mountain you get first dibs on that site again, any site not renewed then go for public sale. but 90% are taken up by the previous years site holder so they are hard to getThere are lots of different camping options down the bottom on the outside of the track ,and I think they still have one site where you can stay in tents already setup just bring something to sleep in ,also areas for camper vans with power Don't sit in the grand stand there are great spots all around the track sulman park is one of my favourites Pit pass can be expensive I think about $35 a full 4 day pass will cost about $125My camp at the top costs $190 but that's shared between 6 It's not as wild on the mountain anymore, you get the occasional fool, but there are heaps of families up there day tripping and camping Come along mate you will have a blast it's a great weekend Any other questions I will see if I can help
