bcl Toughest BA Turbo Lifetime Members 3,408 Member For: 22y 5m 7d Gender: Male Location: Sydney Posted 09/01/04 08:02 AM Share Posted 09/01/04 08:02 AM Mattson,Sorry no mp3.The stock XR6 is very quiet, only mildly sporty, but louder than a stock My03 that I have.You'll find most of the aftermarket XR6T systems are around the legal 90db limit, so they are not very loud, but still louder than stock.I have a complete replacement system, 3.5" dump pipe, 3.5" cat, and dual 2.5" system after that, no centre muffler, just different rear muffler (to reduce noise), and it's been tested as very close to 90db.(fyi dual 2.5" is just a bit bigger than single 3.5") It's still much quieter than our MY97 rex at home that has a typical 3" system, and heaps quiter than the 4" system on my Sti.I reckon it's pretty hard to beat that rex sound, which can be heard a long way away with a modified system.Brian Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/8434-exhaust-notes-with-aftermarket-system/#findComment-80862 Share on other sites More sharing options...
