I've worked in smash repairs and restoration shops for 15 years.... The holes can most definitely be welded up easily without distorting the boot if you get the right guy on the job. But, as others have said. You may just find it cheaper to get a new boot lid or even better a 2nd hand one the same colour.

I got a quote for about $400 to weld up n reparations boot in black! I'm tempted one day to go up to some old bloke in a base falcon n ask for a straight swap, I'd say they'd be keen!

As for centre brake light I was thinking about just buying a red led strip off ebay n wiring it up to the brake lights, thoughts?

When painting just the boot lid does the paint nor.ally match fairly well or have your had to have it blended in along th qtr panels? Also has any one had the threaded parts that the hinge bolts to break out from having subs?

Going to put a G6 spoiler on, thus rendering it not "ghey"

^^^^ great post...... not

if everyone kept their cars stock, and didnt mod them, it would be a very boring world

just because you dont agree with someone's mods doesnt necessarily mean its "ghey" or "sh*te"

says the most vocal bloke about my mods.....

Should be fine. As you only need to put colour over the repaired section not the whole boot. So you are blending into the boot itself, then only clearing the whole boot. Obviously the holes are near the edge of the boot next to the qtr's, but that doesn't mean you colour the whole edge. Hope that makes sense.
