this is one thing I cannot understand, the bloody actuator? 12psi, 7psi what does that mean? can you get bigger then 12psi? is it worth the mod for over the 300's?

The different psi is the minimum boost pressure it will hold the closer it is too the actual boost pressure you want to run will the more linear the way the boost comes on , that's why when using the stock actuator at higher boost the boost sometimes comes on all jagged as its not really designed to be working way outside of its range. My understanding

Do flapper and port also.

is this when you change actuators? why,may I ask?

ok,so from what you telling me if I want to run more boost, the

standard actuator wont be as reliable/responsive under boost as say a

12psi actuator..right!

is there such thing as a bigger then 12psi actuator?,well I guess if any bigger you'd rather change the turbs right! (answering my own question..?)

the small turbo will not hold high boost in the upper rpm's no matter what actuator is fitted, but the stronger actuator will bring it on harder., if you have a good exhaust and cooler, you will need the port job to stop overboost

Are there any DIY turbo porting guides on here ?

it depends on what boost you want to run in the midrange, Bel's G6ET with a complete 4" exhaust would no go below 16 psi, I did not want that so it was overboost, If I wanted more than that then it was not overboost.

I would not call a stock dump pipe a good flowing exhaust, although good results can be got by using it.

you should talk to your tuner about what your goals are and whether he tunes the turbo in closed or open loop and how much time he intends to spend on the tune
