Thanks Phil for having me around. Sorry had to leave early. Maybe next time if its OK with you we could practice Alluminium TIG welding. I could bring some scrap ally/rods and electrodes. Just a suggestion.

So today was a success, not many people had much work to do though, SteveR had to change his front discs and pads, which didn't go as smoothly as he hoped but valuable lessons were learnt.

XRFool did an oil and filter change on his Boss XR8.

The rest of us just stood around, pointed at stuff and enjoyed the show.

So overall, not much work was done but it was great to catch up with everyone and look at cars and stuff.

The most excitement for the day was when Steve almost had to do the drive of shame and take a borrowed Late model camira home for the night.

He only narrowly avoided that one.

Thanks to everyone that came today, it was a real pleasure to have you all over.

Tony, no probs if you want to play with the tig and plasma cutter next time.

I'm rubbish at both but I'm sure you can make a good stab at it.

I'd imagine other guys might want to have a try too so that could be a good show and tell.

Spot the missing half a bolt.

Spot where the bolt goes...nothing major just the... brakes

Well I had a very narrow escape, MASSIVE thanks to everyone for helping out along the way even before the "interesting" bit. XRFool/Adrian for driving me up to Repco with 20 mins until closing, where we managed to find the last pack of 4 high tensile bolts that matched the good one we brought with us, and quadruple thanks to Phil for providing the premises, some lunch, suggesting I take his ute (!!!) to get my new tyres fitted, and for getting the other half of the thread out of the calipers.

What an arvo, got to my mates place to see the last 15 mins of the derby at least, and "my team" lost just to cap it off.

Off to Ford on Monday for some genuine bolts just in case... even though the Repco ones went in perfect I would just feel better with genuine bolts.

I'm quite highly skilled in turning good pieces of ally/ms/ss into useless blobs with a TIG so I'm happy to give interested parties some pointers if I can make the next day.

Dang! I'm actually considering telling work that I need to be in town on the next one of these!

The good news is I don't have nearly as much work to do as before, I'm determined to do my fuel filter....without having the car fall down again...

If I was there I would have just welded your brakes on. You wasted precious time going to Repco to match up bolts.

I just mainly wanted to see how well the inverter machine works. I have always used a transformer TIG. Nevertheless we will see who can lay the best weld bead next time around.

I saw you drive past me just one road from Phils. I took the wifes car keys with me accidently and she planned to go somewhere so had to go.
