Ok thanks guys,

I've got the car booked in at Xtreme on Thursday but now I'm seriously doubting if I'll make it.

I'm hoping like all hell that the battery had just shat itself then and there. Any ay I can check if the alternator is working?

I'm just wondering if I take the gamble and try to drive it over... uuuurgh...

Thanks guys,

Dan

Pretty easy to test if your alternator is not charging. You will need a battery charger and a simple digital multimeter.

Charge your batter until its fully charged and then watch the video below to see what you need to do.

If your reading stays the same or drops when you start the car your alternator is not charging at all. Also remember to load test it as per the video to make sure it is coping with load.

Hey XtRmn8,

Thanks for the video buddy. I'll borrow a charger and a multimeter tomorrow and check it first thing on Wednesday morning.

Cheers!

The easiest and most simple way to test if its Alternator..... Start car and disconnect battery.. If car still runs not alternator... If it stops its Alternator. Old school mechanics right there.
