Hi guys,

Surely this has come up before but I dont seem to be able to find any info.

Can I run an FG F6 Intercooler on my otherwise stock engine XR6T without a tune and be safe?

Not really trying to upgrade performance too much yet, but my Euro 4 2011 FG has the cooler with the plastic end tanks, and an F6 one would look a whole heap better.

Then if I ever mod more down the line, at least the cooler is slightly better. I will never be chasing big numbers. high 200-300kw would more than suit me.

Thanks.

Only if its stock tune !!!

If u already have a custom tune any mod needs to be checked especially cooler changes

I installed a rapid kit on my stock ba thinking it would ok but spoke to a well known tuner and was told not to boost it until it was tuned properly.

Thanks again guys!

Like I said, Basically I think it just looks alot better, and I can cut the lower bumper grill out.

Then later on I can just change the cat, maybe some F6 injectors and a CMS tune.

If cat is standard you wont have a problem

is that the same as if I say I change to a cheap ebay one? reason I ask is I asked a well known tuner and he said the same as you however I have read that you should not boost it much unless its tuned with the cooler
