Me either, but had I gotten out, his mate would have joined in and it's 2 on 1 against blokes who have far more experience punching on than myself, bigger than me and I might end up with a kerb stomping for my troubles, maybe a stolen car to top it off. Can't rely on public to step in and help, most people would rather film on their phone.

If I bring a weapon out like the big torch or a screwdriver from the boot I'm sure they'd have done the same. Likewise if I tried to run him over in the limited space there was then I'm attempting murder.

Rock and a hard place from my point of view. I'd love to have a story where I got out and KOed him with one punch then sorted his mate out too but the reality is it would be the other way around.

If he got the fellas rego plate he probably isn't going to get away with it..

My personal experience of fighting back resulted in me getting the living sh*t kicked out of me..

I liked that post SDP but really not something to "like", hope you healed up OK and no permanent damage was done mate?

Anyway off to file the report, see what happens. - Rego plate probably stolen anyway.

I love how so many people behind their keyboard say I would have done....blah blah blah, you should have done blah blah blah!

Nobody knows how they will react until they are put in a situation, most do not react like the tough keyboard warrior said they would react.

Working in security years ago showed me this, I have seen it first hand.

To be honest, you probably did the right thing by staying in your car. Although you had the right to be pissed off from his initial actions, you escalated it by responding how you did, there are many loonies out there today and some people respond irrational and weapons are commonly used.

I agree with ratter its the fight or flight scenario, if you are not used to an aggressive environment you are more likely to freeze.

Unfortunately you didn't make the early decision to flee, a punch in the face isn't to bad if they are as scummy as you say wouldn't surprise me if they where carrying a concealed weapon getting stabbed is worse case scenario.

These are all things that would go through my head before deciding if its worth engaging someone, these are all little things to consider you want to do this before you decide if its worth it or not.

Yeah like I said to the officer who took my report, I shouldn't have reacted at all. Should you even beep though? That might be enough to set them off, if they're having a really bad day already. Just have to take the little things like that in stride and go back to enjoying your new mp3 deck and Polk speakers...

You have my sympathy - and if it is 2 on 1 and they are "amped up" you need plenty to stop them - and then they lie in court about how it all went and some sh*t-arse lawyer turns it all around and they walk. Pride is a tough meal to swallow but you get to go home after you eat it rather than being fed by a tube.

Dealing with life-time career sh*theads is a no win.

Yeah I got a pic of the blood running out of my nose once it stopped dripping, might post up later. Caught it all in my left hand which was nice at least, and a microfibre dusting cloth I keep in the centre lid came in handy to wipe my hands.
