hi all

ive been toying with the idea of fitting my gas research stuff I have on a old turbo crossflow falcon to my ba turbo . the thing im struging to get my head around is how I would get it to work as I have todo away with fly by wire for it to work , wich unless I can get the car to run with its ecu with only a tps and a cable thottle , or adapt gas research to run the fly by wires stepper motor is the only way it will work , and both things I dont think will work .

my plan atm was to go stand alone ignition , lock the vct and just run the gas research all very basic , the thing I dont no is how I will run the dash and all the sensors and so on , how much does the ecu run is really my question .

if I set it up basic and just left the ecu hooked up with out the injectors and ignition hooked up what would happen ,

I no I could just use vapor injection , but its very messy and has its restrictions I no I can get alot more hp out of gas research .

and still if its all to hard ill just stick with petrol and give up .

eny ideas or help would be great .

do you want a legal system?

What's the build date of your car?

What sort of power are you chasing?

How will you get more power out of a mixer ring system?

its a 05 mark2 ba turbo ,

the gas system is legal with the way I will set it up ,

350rwk plus would be great pritty much as much as I can get using just one mixer ,

and gas research is not so much of a gas ring system , it flows much much more .

they have run some very fast times on gas research , and you can still have a nice clutter free engine bay is the main reason I like it , if I could do away with all the injection stuff and just make the engine run of the basics I could make it all very tidy , I have a 6 speed manuel also so no need to run the auto.

If you want a throttle body instead of the gas research one a fg one 08 to 11 I think dedicated gas would work, has fly by wire and also gas input similar to the old gas research throttle body's would make the process a lot easier and would not be hard to get hold of.

If you look at fg dedicated gas cars 8 to 11 should give you a fair idea of how to pull it off using the older style glass systems .

Good luck and keep us updated if you go this way

I've seen a vl turbo with twin converters and a gas research throttle body go over 350kws can be done this was like 8 years ago aswell lol

that's gas 747 , there a pritty hypo orange mustang kicking around , all built by the same man. and a 700hp turbo v8 ltd built by a guy from act, since they jacked the gas prices up its hardly worth it but I just like gas as its differnt , and with gas research the mixer and throttle bodys all is one thing , need to use the gas research throttle body .
