Pwr Are Designing A New Zf Trans Cooler

can anyone explain if the exchangers main purpose is to get trans up to temp or cool when under heavy loads?

$700 is still cheap insurance against the heartache and pain of a milkshake.

Also better late than never I say.

Prior to being aware of the PWR kit I was going to self install the full house $800 Furious turbo kit as nothing else was available.

That said I did not love the amount of work involved with the furious setup. Also it is in away compromised I feel. All you need is a love tap from a Roo or peak hour small bingle and the wife not realising the trans cooler is dropping oil in the front guard and on to the tyre.

Or being stuck on the side of the road after a small roo hit with a dead trans.

So for me as soon as this PWR kit is released I will be in like flin! My warranty expires this June so timing is perfect.

Clint from ProFile AutoSports does a kit for the ZF. Mounts behind the fog light. Ive had one fitted up to my TH400.

XYZ and typhoonfreak also have had them fitted to thier ZF's.

that's both my external oil cooler and trans cooler.

lol...... Yeah that photo was taken before the cooler pipes were finished.

Although I better double check. It may be the reason she only made 500hp on the weekend.

It is her car. My daily is a modified (2.5ltr) my99 WRX.

G6ET is really our family run around that needs to stay stock and dependable in winter, summer etc...

Both mate. Think of it exactly like the themostat in the engine. The main let down with the OEM unit (aside from milkshake) is it's undersized and lacks any real external cooling. This lets it down under extreme conditions. The PWR unit will address both issues. It's significantly larger and incorporates cooling fins. So engine water temp, which is themostatically controlled, passes through the core at a controlled temp and the external fins will make the cooler more efficient as the fluid circulates through it as air passes over it.
