If it is a BF or earlier anything much above 260 RWKW IMO. There are a few cars on the forum that have made more power than that with a stocker but a pump change is such a simple and worthwhile upgrade in a sedan with a full kit that can be bought for ~ 500 and up from good suppliers. KPM have got some good upgrades - check their sites for details plus the testing they did.

I used the Herrods unit ( not everyones choice for sure) but it has performed flawlessly in mine and at least one other car that went 310+ RWKW and I know this other thing got the snot beaten out of it a while back without a problem.

Keep at least half a tank in it - surge is a known problem for these cars and it is pretty easy to reduce the chance of an issue. Overall, it also seems that regular hard work at the track/drags means a good surge tank and when you think about it.... it makes some sense. Not sure about a regulator but, again, the stocker is a stamped out thing, built to a price and made to work inside some fairly conservative parameters on a road car. I think Henz might have written something on this a while back in terms of changing fuel pressure ( not sure) but if your going racing, a spend in the right area(s) is a good idea. You then know what your feeding into the motor and that gives you a lot of flexibility in fiddling with the fine points within the tunes.

I am already running a larger in tank pump but still want to put in a surge tank for the safety factor. Curious if I would require another tune afterwards or would it be good to go??
