Cruize front end, Camry back end. US style interior, Check out Taurus SHO pictures for proof of that. In or around 2016 Late model camira is gone just like Falcon. They've just started the migration earlier. They might keep the name but the car will be a global platform probalby built in Thailand or somewhere else. (reported in the press last week) Certainly not Australia. So Ford really are not the barstards about the Aussie motor industry as many would think. Expensive Daewoo is just as guilty, but Ford just had the guts to talk about it up front. FG styling still cuts it as far as I am concerned, and let's see how HSV (the worst body kits in history) do to it. Once you see the "base" car in the flesh that's when the warts will be seen. The 2013 Fusion looks the dogs bollocks compared to the Commodore, but each to their own. I would like to think the new Late model camira is better than the predecessor..... it usually is, and it will be a good car by world standards. But let's not get too excited. The writing is on the wall for the entire industry. I just hope the knowledge and experience we have here from both Ford and Expensive Daewoo is not wasted in the shift of manufacturing overseas. The next (maybe final) Falcon? There will be one for sure, and I hope it will be special, but let's just see shall we. I wouldn't be rushing to jump ship right now, cos you might just miss that something special.

Oh, BTW . A wanker engine "start" button. I remember all the Expensive Daewoo wallies out there years ago sayiong it was a joke. Looks like it's OK for them now considering just about all major car makers have now adopted it. The start button and a key doesn't make sense I agree, but you start somewhere. Also BTW we have a Focus Titanium with park assit. Works well and have NEVER EVER used it. Hmmmmmm.

Below 2013 Fusion SHO, rumoured to be the next import. If this aint better looking than the Commodore, then I'll give it away. Wish I could get it now.

Fusion will never Happen.. Fords marketing department will make sure it won't... Remember the Taurus.... Fark that worked big time. Remember the Ecoboost? That saved Ford to.

I know where you're coming from but Taurus then and now are two totally different scenarios. Then Falcon was still a good package and selling OK. This was just a brain explosion at the time. If Ford decide to bring a "large" family car into Australia, it has to be Taurus or Fusion variants. Focus and Fiesta are already best sellers. I beleive Focus was the best selling sedan globally last year - or close to it. So global branding works. But will Australians by family cars any more? Eccoboost is very successful. They just should have brought it here a year earlier but the net result will be the same.

wow

Having owned both I honestly cannot see how people think the FG is not that different to the BA/BF. They are vastly different and more reliable. In fact I cannot remember one thing that's the same on both vehicles.
