I'm with Dags on the price shift. I don't know how they are going to make money unless it hits the top of the sales charts, all that tech added and 10k drop in price, whoah. It's really quite bold of a move, I guess the older platform has recouped the development cost already but still...

Hi Guys,

Check out this story - VF Commode vs FG XR6T:

http://news.drive.com.au/drive/new-car-comparison/comparison-review-vf-commodore-ss-v-fg-falcon-xr6-turbo-20130530-2nd5z.html

Holden's radical price reductions will make it hard for Ford. If Ford does not officially reduce prices, I imagine they will have to do so when negotiating deals.

Here's some free advice for Ford. Bring back the XR8 and fit the blown Miami V8. 315kw will be OK as we know it's the same engine as the 335kw job.

Upgrade the XR6T turbo so it blows a bit harder in the upper rev range.

Fix up the seating and steering wheel position for more adjustment. Fix up the electrics so the clock holds its settings and preferences for things like light settings are not lost for no reason.

Fix up the 6 speed manual rollover noise and while you're at it, fix up the rear end bushes that tend to chop out somewhere between 20k and 30k. My XR6T is a 2008 model. Has Ford looked at these issues recently?

Any thoughts?

I wouldnt get too excited, none of what you suggest will happen. What Ford have is all you will get, maybe a small face lift next year, and just carry on until the end.

People on these forums are only a minority of car buyers, mum and dad just want a basic car to get about in, so that's their main bread and butter.

Everyone just needs to accept whats there is it.

Yeah, we know a turbo Falcon will wip an SS, and most current HSVs for that matter in the grunt stakes, but I bet they sell a heap of the new VF SS, as they have the VE SS.

You blokes have got to stop thinking that everyone wants 300RWKW.

I was referring to PAH comment, not the general thread as such. Giving a car more power is not always a selling point v a whole package.
