was 3 seconds slower than a 2008 Renault Megane.

....thats where the pics from...and its been revised:

To clarify, the Megane R26R's time of 8:17 was set in 2008 - a feat the new Megane 265 Trophy smashed in 2011 by clocking 8:08.

that's a fair comparison a fwd hatchback that was developed at nurburg ring and ways f*ck all compared to a ute that can carry over 500kg and ways over 1800kg! doesn't mention that its only 2 seconds slower than a porsche boxter or 10 seconds faster than a pontiac gxp which has a 6.2 litre!

A time for the VF GTS around the ring would be more interesting than bothering with the VF SS-V ute. A good time will go a long way to proving it is worthy to compete with the Mercs and BMWs.

I agree!.Although a Nurburgring time doesn't necessarily mean that it's the be all and end all measure of a car's performance, world wide it is considered as a

feat that needs to be completed by any manufacturer if they wish to gain "credibility" for their cars' performance. The upcoming GTS would "need" to complete a

similiar or faster lap time than the Mercs,Audis and BMWs that GMH believes it will compete against. If the GTS does indeed accomplish a faster lap time well........

most of GMH's marketing would be self completed and no doubt successful.
