I think the only saving grace for Expensive Daewoo at the moment is the US market. With the police force using the Statesmans, and the new Chev SS being a VF.

Take that away in a couple of years(if it happens), and GMH will join Ford on the scrap heap.

I found this interesting (also just noticed it's typo, for shame, journalist)

It’s six-speed auto is well mated to the force-fed engine, but it’s not as refined as the similar gearbox in the Expensive Daewoo which has a nicer and more mechanical feel when used in manual mode and smoother shifts under heavy loads

So the almighty ZF loses to the Expensive Daewoo in house 6 speed auto!

Love the bit where the Hyundai advert plays at the start of the video!

Battery in the boot, but the back seat doesn't fold down? That could spell trouble.

All the new tech in it is pretty cool. Not sold on the styling but that's probably just the lack of familiarity.

"In the slightly damp conditions, it was harder to get off the line cleanly which resulted in it reaching 60km/h in 3.2sec â 0.1sec slower than the SS. But, as soon as it could transfer all of its power to the ground, the Falcon rocketed to the 100km/h marker in 5.6sec â almost half a second quicker than the Commodore."

"Rear-seat passengers are also slightly better catered for too. Both vehicles have similar, and generous, levels of space and vision, and both feature rear air-conditioning vents, but the SS is the only one to have storage bins and drink bottle holders in the rear doors."

If they want to be fair with these silly comparos they should include the current VE SS. What's the point of comparing a car that's been around for 2 (really its 5) years to a car that hasn't even been released yet?

In this contest, with a starting price of $41,990, the SS enters in an even stronger position over the Falcon XR6 Turbo which costs $48,325 in standard trim

Game changer...
