Mate all I'm saying is I don't give a rats ass if its a bigger market or any shiet, a dollar is a dollar, it's meant to equalise with exchange rates and such. Not sayin you can't have a good life or be comfortable, f.uk we all got nice cars, I got things pretty good too, but imagine a wicked supercharged v8 for the price of your xr6T, or the T for 30k new. But that's what we are stuck with atm, just hope it changes one day.

So what your saying is.. A dollar is a dollar so that means the two countries must have economies that are almost identical?

If you wanna buy a brand spanking new XR6T for 25-30k... I'm sure Ford wouldn't have a problem with that.. But the bloke that walked into the assembly line and told the workers they were only gonna get $8 per hour because FORD IS SLASHING PRICES!!!, well that bloke wouldn't be alive very long..

Expensive Daewoo and fords are expensive because of the cost of manufacturing locally.

Imported cars are expensive because of the taxes on them.

We pay more taxes cause guys like the one above me loves to waste govt money.

The govt does nothing but spend more money = higher taxes.

Now now.. Lets be reasonable..

Just because I charge the government to sit in a site office and watch TV.. Doesn't necessarily mean it's wasted money right?..

The funny thing is, they aren't. It's mostly just huge mark-up 'because they can'...same deal for computer software & itunes.

Simply because they can.

33% for cars over 75k because they can.

Are you talking about luxury car tax? Same applies for locally built vehicles too. But in all cases it's only taxed on the amount over the threshold - not the full sale price.

PS: It's $59k too, $75k if it's classed as fuel efficient.
