Although most of the attention is centered with FPV Vs HSV I wonder what people in M5s, Audis RSs and Mercs AMG would be thinking? These cars that can cost more than double the GTS would have to think twice about taking on a GTS at the lights or down the drag strip.

rumor buds but I read somewhere that the Expensive Daewoo chairmen/CEO's etc are stating that Expensive Daewoo is not in competition with ford but is aiming to lead the charge against the AMG,BMW M series & Audi's...

if these power figures are as claimed will be interesting to see how the competition reacts?

slashing the price of a M5 by 50% would be a nice start :sungum: , would probably still be more expensive than US price

fun facts from the internet.

LSA

The supercharged 6.2L LSA is similar to the LS9 and debuted in the 2009 CTS-V. The LSA has been SAE certified at 556 bhp (415 kW) at 6100 rpm and 551 lb·ft (747 N·m) at 3800 rpm. GM labels it "the most powerful ever offered in Cadillac’s nearly 106-year history". The LSA features a smaller 1.9L capacity supercharger rather than the 2.3 L variant of the LS9. Other differences include a slightly lower 9.0:1 compression ratio, single unit heat exchanger and cast pistons.

On February 9, 2011 Chevy Announced that the LSA will be used in the 2012 Camaro ZL1; it adds an additional 24 hp to make 580 hp, 30 hp over the original 550 hp rated ZL1, with some stock 550 hp examples in existence

so the flywheel figures are accurate....

driveline loss means this monster is still going to be fast... so very fast.

Just searching the web on 1/4 mile figures on the Camaro ZL1.I've seen a number of 12.2 to 12.3s + times for bone stock cars(no drag radials etc).Speed seems to be about 115 mph.Although these runs cannot be an accurate gauge on the upcoming GTS performance, one would assume it(GTS) should be able to at least do the same times?

The Shelby GT500 doesn't lose often to this Camaro from what I've seen, considering the GT500 is available only in manual while the ZL1 is available in both transmissions. On the rare

ocassion that the GT500 loses it seems to always have a higher terminal speed of 3 + mph higher and a driver that cannot shift :(.

It's a shame the 5.8L SC engine will not make it's way to FPV.

There is little doubt that the new GTS(bone stock) will be faster than the GT and the F6.Although if GMH are gunning for the European "muscle cars" dynamically,It will

certainly have a very tough job!
