I think it's making 350/360 rwkw's and manual.. Haven't seen him drag race it yet but the comment about it being difficult to drive is spot on..It sounds good but its ridiculously loud, because of the size of the cam it doesn't travel nicely with cruise control on, instead it feels like its constantly trying to charge forward..I'm not gonna say its a slow car by any crack (but please remember I spend 90% of my time in a triton).. But for the power it makes it doesn't give you the seat of the pants thrill that similarly powered 6T's do..

One of my best mates is a die hard Expensive Daewoo fan onto his 6th cammed lsx car, his old vz 6l had a monster cam, the bloke at the shop recommended this cam my mate went 2 cam sizes bigger. Was terrible to drive but it was quick (for a holden) and the best sounding lsx motor I have heard but that's all it had going for it.

Seat of the pants bit is alwaysgoing to favour the turbo. Linear power delivery of the V8 can be deceptive. Only real way to compare is side by side. Are you looking for outright power potential, or a decent powered streeter??
damo6 Member 85 Member For: 12y Gender: Male Location: brisbane nth Posted 08/02/13 01:13 AM Share Posted 08/02/13 01:13 AM just stepped out of a ser 1 ve ss ute, interior wise night and day,my fg absolutely sh*ts on the ve. my ute had a tune, otr, and 3' pipes and put down 255kw at the tyres, un opened engine, auto. that's the norm for that combo,if you cam it,springs, lifters, rods, maybe timing gear, labour to fit and tune 3-4g spent easily.if you play with an afm engine,l76,l77. add another 2g for the afm rubbish to be swapped out. LS engines are good and have their bad points as well- sh*tty gm lifters particularly the afm lifters with reports of these afm jobbies spinning in the seats and chewing cam lobes on some now high km cars becoming more common. but they are an easy engine to get power out of. 5 LS powered cars ive owned is a testament to that..but... now im (finally) driving around what used to be my enemy on the road I can honestly say that the mod potential of these turbos for relatively little dollars compared to getting an LS engine to boogie is awsome. at the end of the day its what you are comfortable with PS... pm me if you buy an ss as I have sh*tloads of new and near new parts for it if you want. If it didnt have the huffer on top, it wouldnt sell at all. Ford missed the boat real bad with that one. Most of the replies to the OPs questions have been based around performance potential for the dollar. I know that's what he seems to want. But in standard form, I believe it comes down to personal taste-Ford v Expensive Daewoo to a point.I have a VE GTS(yes, I know its not a ute), and my turbo Falcon. I also know that if its power that I want, the Falcon will take the money anyday.
