G'day all, my first post on this great site. I am about to decide between buying a new 3L Z series Commodore ($36K with reversing camera and Sat nav) or a demo 2012 XR6 ($33,990). After having test driven both, the XR6 performs and drives way better than the Expensive Daewoo but the ICC display in the XR6 seems dull compared to the holdens IQ display. Also Expensive Daewoo claim to be able to get 800k's out of a tank of fuel. How does this compare with the Falcons range? Are reversing cameras able to be retrofitted to the XR6. Cheers, Dave.

Buy the Holden. Seriously.

They're just as good as each other in N/A form and the resale on the Late model camira will be waaaaaay more than the Falcon.

Yes can be retro fitted for reverse camera here for price

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FG-Genuine-Reverse-camera-kit-wiring-suits-F6-FPV-G6E-G6-GT-GT-E-XR6-XR8-ford-/221097094235?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item337a69ec5b&_uhb=1

I personally would get the falcon 3.6 vs 4 litre won't be much difference with economy and the fg shape is 10x better the the ve bulkiness.

I would look at the demo xr6 ecolpi can get them in the same price you are saying and will save you around 50% running costs on fuel plenty of power etc

Better daily in my opinion if your worried about economy, I just recently got a g6 limited edition factory gas model $35 a week vs $60 a week for my ba turbo worth a look mate and test drive you will be surprised

Thanks for the input. I have an AU111 falcon on LPG so I know the advantages of that. As far as resale value goes the SV6's and the XR6's on sale at the yard which were all ex hire cars were all selling for around $26K with 60,000k's on them , so no big difference in resale there..

There will be later on.

The upside for you is that anything looks better than an AU.

I thought my BA was unrefined so I can only imagine what a au would be like the new gas cars have come along way, everyone who's had a ride in mine have been converted even the ones with fg xr6's no one can tell the difference driveability wise between the 2 petrols not getting any cheaper.

Splash sensors tend to go as well as diff bushes.

And the 3L direct injection Expensive Daewoo is way more efficient than the XR6. Just don't expect the power of the XR6. If fuel economy is your focus get the Holden.
