just on a quick note when your servicing your ZF try to use genuine ZF filters, as we've had a few coincidently after there've being serviced else where, ppl were experiencing a delay when selecting D cold morning starts.... what we've found in these cases is that the aftermarket filter is slightly shorter in the snout when pushed up in the pump suction & then the filter hangs & moves down slightly, well the sump actualy holds the filter in place when you take of the origonlal filter you will see 3 witness marks but not with the aftermarket ones..

just something to look out for.

cheers

Joe

Pretty much exactly what mine is doing but not locking or unlocking. Only surges slightly and only at first start up when stone cold. Coolant is green and clear as. Car has only done 33k but has had 300+ and ZF tune for over 12 months now. I can get it professionally done for $350. Time to do it me thinks.

Trans serviced today. It's now by far the best it has ever been. Always hung on more than I liked with light pedal, even after the ZF tune. Not now. No surging or other quirky stuff that it did every now and then. The report was very good. Nice and clean inside - no metal etc. Maybe the level was never right from new? Anyhoo, highly recommend getting it done. I'll get rid of the factory exchanger very shortly now also.
