Tell the dealer to upgrade the AIM (Audio Interface Module)

It is a 10 min job and should be done free. I asked for mine to be done on pre delivery.

If you don't get anything out of it then I'd imagine it's more than a firmware issue. Check to see the other end of the coiled cable is plugged in properly...otherwise back to the dealer for you. :pinch:

Well got back from ford today. It needs a new blue tooth module which also controls the Ipod stuff.

They have to order it so ive gotta go back tomorrow morn to have it fixed.

It sucks cause its a 100k round trip :crybaby:

Hey,

I just bought a 07 upgrade 2008 BF XR6T and want to run my ipod thru the head unit controls. I've found that I can get cables off ebay and even a Ipod specific cable that charges and plays it at the same time and has thos white clips for it to plug in the back of the unit. is this all I need for it to work???

I rang my local ford dealer and they said I need to install a AUX kit for it to work, do they just mean that ehy install a port for me to plug in a 3.5mm jack into the ipod headphone hole or for the cable off ebay to work?

thanks and if anyone has installed the cable can you let me know if its good or bad

dont know if that makes sense.... lol

CHEERS!

I don't know of any kits that will provide full integration like they now have in the FG if that's what you're asking?

Hey tab,

my cars at the dealer tomorrow, is it a software update to fix the track order in albums? or do I need a new module?

only because when I asked them they said "you have the newest bluetooth module so we can't do anything.." But it would be the one in the centre console, not the one above the ICC.. :gfight:

I believe the exact device in question is the Audio Interface Module as ZAP posted above - and is just a software upgrade, they have never physically replaced any of that stuff on my vehicle (that I know of).

It may be the same module that provides the Bluetooth connectivity, as it is definitely on the same power circuit as Bluetooth, but regardless you have a fault that needs to be fixed! Don’t back down – it can and should be resolved. :gfight:
