Just to further clarify, my iphone 3gs works perfectly from the music side of things in any of the new cars on line currently, and has worked in my car (june 08) since I had the software updated (post the august update). It always played music, I just had to control it from the phone itself rather than the ICC.

Any dealer that tells you differently is full of :beerchug:

I have the "revision" cable which has been introduced to allow for charging and ICC control as well as another firmware update.

Bluetooth conectivity needs to be fixed too in next few upgrades. IT works when I call people but when people call me it fails.

sometimes works if answer using steering controls

Hi guys, I have just purchased an ipod nano 16 gb gen 5, played with a bit and loaded some albums to get used to operating it, all appears to work as it should.

I have an FG super pursuit that has the ipod integration cable fitted as standard to the colored screen icc.

When I plug my ipod in, I get no sound from the ipod, It can be controlled by the icc, I can change songs albums, go to the radio etc, but nothing I do gives me any sound.

Reading my ford owners manual it appears I just have to plug in the 30 pin cable and it should work.

I have updated the firmware on the ipod and it made no difference.

I thought maybe my ipod being the latest version may not be compatable so I tried the wifes which is an older version, gen 3 4 gb I think, (it is wider and shorter than mine) and hers does the same as mine, all can be operated just no sound.

My car is probably an march or april build so I don't know if there has been any software updates for the car but would have expected the olfer version to work correctly.

Is there a setting on the ipods or even in the cars menu I should be turning on?

Thanks for any help

I had the same problem with mine for the last 6 months. it all started after I disconnected the battery. same problem as you, it all looked fine on the ICC but no sound. took it to ford soon after but after one day in service they could not resolve the problem and asked for the car for an extra day, needing the car I said no and would rebook it. Finally got around to it last week and after another 2 days they finally fixed it. After taking out half the console and dash they traced the problem to the wires that lead into the ICC and later to the actual connector. Apparently all they did was unplug the connector and then replugged it and BINGO it all works fine now. they dont really know why it happened but they figure it worked itself loose or the disconnecting and reconnecting of the battery had something to do with it. Hope this helps

I have got a Apr 09 ute with tech and lux pack. Gen 1 nano works fine and the new Gen 5 (8GB) also works like a treat. I suggest there is a problem somewhere with your audio path. A software error/corruption would be unlikely as it that would have been flagged when it was loaded/verified.

cheers,

I have a Jul08 build and a 4th & 5th gen Nano and both work.

I did have the same problem you described and as tpinto says, just unplug the ipod plug in the center console.

Somehow it gets moved and stops working. Mine works fine now.

Problem solved

Went out to the car, tried it again just in case, still nothing, then unplugged the ipod lead in the console and replugged it back in, this made no difference.

Then removed the main silver console trim around the T'bar after unplugging the cig lighter and Aux1 wiring connectors and everything looked ok, then noticed there was a similar plug which was plugged into a loom that was similar to the Aux1 port plug, swapped these plugs around and I now have sound and control of my ipod.

It appears the plugs have been plugged incorrectly from factory although the orientation of the wiring did appear to be correct

Thanks for the suggestions

is there any way to display my ipod nano coverflow display to the colored icc screen in my FG super pursuit or even display the album cover while a song is being played.

I have full control of the ipod including playing song etc via my icc but would like the album pictures if possible
