I just went out a bought a iPod Nano 8gb 4th gen and it says not compatible on my ICC

I am not sure if it is because there was nothing on it, but I thought this model was compatible.

I asked Ford to flash the ipod firmware on the BEM before I picked up the car, so it should have the "fix".

Is ther any trick to getting these things working ?

I am just abouts to load some songs on it, but I had the same problem with my iPod photo, it would play songs in fast forward.

It probably isn't compatible...unless there's been another software update and they haven't updated the specs on their website?

I bought the same unit that Benny said was working on his car.

I will be annoyed if it does not work.

I think they BS'ed me and did not flash the car, even after I told them what needed to be done.

I got the Nano working, it plays, pauses and moves to the next song, but says iPod Not Supported.

It really lets the whole sales process down when you ask for a simple thing to be done, and they do not do it.

Does anoyone with the Nano get the songs on the screen ?

I can assure you that the 4th gen nano definitely does work. I had a brand new G6E for overnight testing a week ago and had the ipod goin the whole time. It integrated so bloody well I left it in the car and it was shipped before I realised

Hi Guys,

A computer guru in the area gave me the following advice

For Windows, I always used and recommend a tool called FreeRip. You can download from

http://www.freerip.com/

Another download source: http://www.download.com/FreeRip/3000-2140_4-10050140.html

I have not used this particular tool . . . yet.

I've got a bit of my music on a CD in MP3 format. That seems to work very well and it's quite easy to burn MP3's onto a CD using XP. Why bother with an IPOD? Is it better quality than a CD?

There's always a chance that an expensive IPOD will go walkies from the console when it's not meant to. Who cares if a CD develops legs?

It can't be any better than the original file, but if you keep the bit rate above 128kbs you should not notice the different.
