Does any one have a pin out diagram connecting the socket in the fuse box to an mp'3 player. The ford dealer wants $111.50 for it. If it was fitted in the factory $70.00.

What a rip off. The output from the player is only a stereo jack, so that is 4 wires and maybe a jumper in the plug.

:thumbsup::laughing:

$115.50???

Are you serious?

Over here in NZ from ford this part for the auxilary cable cost me like $45 genuine part.

I think there is a thread on this forum with how to make a aux cable yourself.

But can't remember,

There are 2 input options...

The cheap cable is just that, gets lots of engine noise and you need to turn your device up really loud. The dearer one has a booster which also connects to the mobile phone output hence the dearer cost. I paid about 90 off a dealer for mine.

Crap got ripped off then, yeah I don't seem to get much engine noise but I do need to turn it up a fair bit more than normal.

When I went to even get my cable the guy behind the counter didn't even know what I was talking about and I didn't know there were two types.

oh well it does the job.

Well I took the ute to the dealers and as I have bought 3 cars in the last 12 months, I asked for trade price, the audio booster = $84.27 labour = $28.00.

I was bidding on e-bay and the cable without the booster were going for one @ 75 and another @85

So I am as happy as a pig in

I reckon you should have a go at making the non-boosted cable yourself first for $5. THEN if you get engine whine/noise pay the $100... IN my BF, my $5 cable works fine with no noise whatsoever. The only "downside" is that the volume has to be turned up about 7-8 more levels that normal for the same volume.

The AUX inputs on the BF has changed from the BA. Its now unlikely to get engine whine on the BF due to the changes they have made.

If you want to get the volume up to the same level as your ICC's CD player then I can help you out with that too.

cheers,
shock.

Hi all, this is my first post (I've been reading for a while). Well I've finally picked up my new xr6t ute, and im keen on getting an alpine hub pro with the ipod addapter, my question is, does the alpine setup allow you to play your ipod movies on the factory lcd? any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers
