Hey All,

The IPOD in my FG isn't viewable after 3mths of mp3 pleasure, I flick through the mode selections on the steering wheel & the IPOD is no longer an entity in the ICC module - no listing when connected. Looks like another trip to FORD for the resetting...

:(

There seems to be some ambiguity regarding this topic, so I decided to call the Dealership, who advised me to call Ford Customer Relations. The official word is that Ford is working on a compatibility update for the iPhone 3G.

dashturbo, I'm interested in the outcome of your update as I've also had my car's software updated recently to correct the issues I had with the Bluetooth connectivity and my iPhone but this software update didn't solve the integration issues I'm experiencing via the iPod cable.

Hi Again,

With resetting the IPOD's in the FG, I called the Dealership & spoke with the sevice dept which said to disconnect the power from the battery & let sit for 5min & it will then work when reconnected & IT DID!! So simple & you also don't need to enter a passcode for the stereo . Now the only issue remaining is the bluetooth for my SE P900 phone that doesn't pair correctly. (No Phone entity after pairing) Phone cost $1300.00 - Car $47,000 - Ford should also sell fully compatible Phones. I hope the updates that members are mentioning of will resolve this otherwise its another new phone - but which one?

Cheers!!

Hi guys, a quick review on a new ipod cradle I bought, the belkin tunebase fm cradle- charges your ipod and is an FM transmitter.

Well- IT STINKS.

I got it on special at JB on the weekend for 116 bucks, and I regret it.

The cradle looks neat, fits the interior of the XR well and charges the ipod fine, however my music sounds like you are listening to a really crappy radio station, complete with heaps of static and engine noise.

This model lets you choose whatever radio station you want to broadcast it on, and I have tried the whole range and cant find a good station.

Also, it seems to be getting some interference from the dashboard controls, as it plugs into the ciggy lighter and when I put my hand in between the dash and the unit, it seems to get clearer.

This model also has "clearscan" function, that is meant to tune into the best channel available for you, but this does not work as described and tunes into a crappy frequency with heaps of feedback.

"Clear balances sound" my @ss.

I would strongly suggest testing one of these before buying one. I have decided to keep it for its ipod charging and still run an AUX lead aswell- so in the end it was a pretty expensive ipod holder :(

Let me know if anyone is running one of these and thinks higher of them, maybe I am doing something wrong...

Ive got the Cygnett GrooveTransporter2....its ok, does suffer from engine interference noise sometimes, but can drown out local stations on the same freq.

yup, I sell these and have gone through most brands and products, and I can tell you that all of them that I've tried sound unfortunately no better than a $10 cable. great for the fact that they hold the ipod up, but yeh rubbish sound!

Have tried (and wasted money on) a few of these transmitters myself and I agree, the Belkin one is woeful. Nice idea with a cradle and all but it just doesn't cut it....I don't use it anymore.

HOWEVER...

If you want a recommendation on a really effective transmitter, I finally found one about a year ago by sussing out many reviews and comments on the net. What I found and bought was one called an AudiaX. Great strong reception and nothing interferes with it. Small...but a real good little performer. Trouble is it won't charge your Pod but if you can live without that capability, the AudiaX will not disappoint!

Not sure if you can still get AudiaX as I got mine some time ago. But if you can still get it....I can highly recommend it.
