Has anyone had any problems with their FG losing their Ipod connection?

Mine worked fine for about a week but now cant even see the Ipod when it is connected.

Apple claim this is a firmware problem with the FG's. Ford are not breaking their backs to do anything about it.

Anyone else?

Ive found that when I use my ipod and turn the car off the ipod screen stays on always, I have to dissconnect it and turn it off individually.

not sure how long the ipod screen will last otherwise

ohh mate. I wouldnt do that if I wer you. the ipod has its own special cable for a reason. it reads the data/software/version off the Ipod and "handshakes" with the ICC, that way you can see what folders/sub folders you have and the music you got on it, that's why its a "fully integrated Ipod support", now as for rewiring the usb to get it to fit onto the N95, you wont have any luck there the plug is not only different but it also charges up the ipod, trying to mod it and make the thing work with a phone will most likely send an overcharged pulse into the phone and corrupt the hard drive in it. so if I were u, id use the 3.5mm jack. that's what I use with my phone, sucks cos' you have to look at your phone everytime you wana change songs but its better than not only f*cking up a feature you paid for in the car, but saves you from the hassle of mucking around with wires and potentially harming your phone.

anyway good luck with whatever u have chosen to do, why not just get a damn ipod, theyre cheap nowadays and have more storage than a 4-8gb phone.

I'm having two issues with my ipod connection...

when I press seek on the steering wheel it always jumps two tracks (weird)

If I change track it makes makes noise during the change, like the music gets louder.
