Very easy to install. For $90 odd dollars, its ok compared to having to re deck the whole system. There is a slight "hissing" sound on some of the tracks on my ipod, but yeah you still have to turn your volume on your ipod to MAX and I have an aftermarket amp in my car as well. 7/10 - What do you think DAking?alphaI bought the Ford iPod AUX adaptor - $92 - and installed it in about 30mins. Didn't really need to pull apart the dash as in the instructions - saved a lot of mucking around.I unplugged my Nokia Bluetooth car kit from the BLUE connector behind the fuse box and then connected up the wiring loom that came with the kit. As someone said earlier, the loom suppliees power to both AUX and MEDIA ("Media"on Premium sound). Connected it all up and then gave it a shot. Now this is how silly I can get - I tested the iPod but had virtually no volume which meant that as I swithed betweeen radio and AUX for iPod - the volume of the radio would blow me out the door. What I had not done was turnm on the power to the little amp that comes with the kit - it is powered via the ignition!! I had the ignition off.Turned on the ignition - or accesories - and all works perfectly. The kit enables me to run the iPod through the Premium Sound and also supports full mute and sound via the steroe for the Nokia mobile phone! So both the iPod and phone work perfectly.Clever boys at Ford to include this capability in the Premium sound.I am very happy with the whole set-up and a great little unit.I haven't noticed any hissing - but my hearing is pretty stuffed so I wouldn't notice it anyways. Many thanks to all the helpers on this topic - esp Seena T

Price quoted was $92.Is this the kit to go for so that I don't get the free banshee?Dakingjust in case someone reads this and thinks they have been ripped off because they didnt get the volume wheel, they come with a cable that plugs into the aux socket and goes to the ipod, and it is a retractable cord that coils back into a small wheel(not a volume control)

Guest newl Guests Posted 18/12/07 07:10 AM Share Posted 18/12/07 07:10 AM Gotta love this forum and the wealth of information it contains. Was chasing up info and knew it was around here somewhere. A little bit of mining later, presto, this thread. A quick trip to the dealer to buy the MP3 kit while a server was being updated and the boss is none the wiser. Now to sort out which MP3 player I want to get.

Guest newl Guests Posted 14/01/08 07:57 AM Share Posted 14/01/08 07:57 AM (edited) The factory kit plugs into the mobile phone socket behind the fuse box and is piss easy to install. The hardest part was fishing the connector back behind the ICC to the tissue tray so it could be screwed in. Bain said in another thread the connector for this can be purchased from Jaycar.Afterthought..the alternator whine bugs me from time to time. Anyone know what can be done to rectify (electrical pun semi-intended ) this problem? Edited 14/01/08 07:59 AM by newl

I picked up a fitting that has the ability to connect 4 wires. This fits perfectly into a blue plug behind the fuse box. Is this the correct fitting that I have bought?and what wire goes where??Ok..Ive since realised that I have bought the wong fitting so I went to Jaycar to get the right one. They do not have the one that I need and they couldnt even find it when they looked it up. Does anyone have a pic of theirs and a part number? I am guessing it just uses a 3.5mm to 3.5mm stereo cable?
