As tab said once you connect a power adaptor to P/n baf 289455ba your stereo MAY whine like a banshee, mine does.

Unplug the the power supply and it works fine with nil whine.

I went to dick smith bought some cable and a plugs and made my own for about five bucks :-D not amplified though... I have not experienced whining though. even when I have a laptop charger plugged into the power source. A member of this forum designed his own amplified one and was selling it for about $80 its meant to be better than fords alternative lol I believe him :-)

Hey Dagabond sorry to sound stupid, but what do you mean by connecting to a power adapter - do you mean the adaptor that charges the ipod when playing?
