Ladies and Gents

I want to install an iPod adaptor to my T with premium sound. It's an '04 BA.

I keep hearing that all the systems whine.

Ford offers a Ford badged product with what looks like a small pre-amp for $90. Includes cables, volume wheel etc....

Is this the go, or is there something better?

regards

Daking

yes this will fix it, ford sell two types of the aux input, you can just buy the aux-input, from which you will get the whine, and you can also buy the Ipod/Mp3 Input which comes with what you are describing above

ok, if you buy the correct kit from ford you will have no problems, I'll put it that way, if you still have the banshee whine, you've done it wrong

The kit I was offered had a wiring loom, a small box 5cmx5cmx2cm, a cable that plugs into iPod with what looks like a volume control wheel in the center of cable plus a whole lotta instructions. Price quoted was $92.

Is this the kit to go for so that I don't get the free banshee?

Daking

No it wont.

As soon as you add a power source it whines like a banshee!!

I was 10min from buying the boosted kit until I read this- I have an aftermarket amp in the car. Will the whinning sound be more evident. Also will it fit a gen1 apple ipod or would I have to another adaptor.

the kit you bought should be fine Da King  all my customers have no complaints

alpha, your mk1 ipod will owrk, the plug is just like your headphone plug, I'm not sure about the amp, but if everything is grounded properly it should be ok....

Are you calling Dags and idiot??? If so

PS: Some vehicles still have a problem with the whine even using the booster kit.

I'm only pointing out that with all the kits I get fitted at the dealership, I have never had a customer complain about the whine, some complain about it being quietand hissy, but that's because they haven't pushed the plug in properly

and if it seems like I'm calling stupid, I mean dags, stupid, that's your 10% tab, not mine!

I think it's mainly a problem once you connect a power adaptor to the device as well.

So....are you calling Dags an idiot? You never answered the question.

BTW: 10% is fine with me, the September installment must be just about to expire
