ive been quite impressed with sinclair ford they found a split intercooler pipe a week after I took it to a sydney tuner to have a look over it as I felt it had a split pipe but was assured it was all fine and the noise was normal.

Went to sinclair to get a coolant flush and got a call that it had a split pipe, and the noise was gone.... I dont use that tuner no more but will use sinclair.

Coffey Ford in clayton a week after I bought the car (second hand stat warranty) would not replace the idle pulleys even though they sounded like a chainsaw. Also found out CD player was not covered , does still not play CD's

Also Chadstone Hyundai , had my old ladys car serviced there and they left a pair of vice grips on the right rear shock which blew it out

Lucky I was driving the car that weekend would step out sideways over bumps/corners at almost any speed

However they didnt argue when it came to fixing it and supplying me with a loan car at no cost

I let them have their vice grips back as well

Mine went back to Sinclair ford for a coolant flush after milkshaked gearbox was replaced under warranty @ 9000km.

They snapped my tailshaft and told me the car wasn't moving, they just started it up. Charged me $1500 to replace.

Likely story :/

Hyundai

From a friends friend on Facesucks:

Dear Hyundai, I recently took my Hyundai i30 to my local dealer for its 105K service. I received the seemingly standard phone call where a receptionist tells me all the other things that 'need' to be done to my car, in addition to the regular service. My initial quoted 300 hundred dollar service was now in fact, going to be a one THOUSAND dollar service. My previous service, the 'major 90K service' was only done six months ago so I was a little alarmed at these Hyundai 'recommendations.' However, not being an expert on all things car service, I TRUSTED that these 'recommendations' were necessary, to ensure I was driving a safe and road worthy car. I told them to go ahead with the work, but the receptionist told me that I would need to bring the car back on another day as they didn't have time to complete my job. I paid the $300 and said I would call to book on another day. On my way home I decided to drop into another service centre and asked if they were able to do these 'recommendations' at a better price. After inspecting my car I was told the following: My Brake Fluid DID NOT need a flush (done on 90k service) only TWO tyres were low on tread and, wait for it…. The power steering flush DOES NOT EXIST IN MY CAR. When I asked what that meant, the mechanic said that the power steering flush does not apply to my car because it has ELECTRONIC power steering. He even called HYUNDAI and confirmed this! I took my car across the road to another service centre who confirmed ALL OF THE ABOVE. I was completely outraged! Over $400 worth of services that my car DID NOT REQUIRE and DID NOT EXIST in my car. I went straight back to Hyundai and told the service manager the blatant rip off that had nearly occurred had they been able to get my car back to me that day. He squirmed in his seat for the duration of my rant and all he could offer me in way of explanation was that it may have been a 'typo' on the invoice. Still outraged, I asked him how many people this would happen to each day? How many people just like myself take the word of their mechanic and go ahead with the recommendations? Is this a standard practice? Does this only occur whenever a female puts a car in for a service?

Again no decent explanation, just an offer to give me SOME of my money back. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with my experience and simply cannot believe this blatant attempt to deceive me. Hopefully many people will hear about this incident before their next car service and be more aware of this deliberate fraud.

Hyundai essendon are all drop kicks.

Mrz bought a brand new ix35 highlander, that weekend they had a sale that if you bought a new car you get a free ipad2. After she asked about it the owner came and said 'because your getting the car cheaper then the sticker price, its not included'. Luckily I took a pic of the ad in the paper and showed him.. 10 mins later he comes back grunting saying she can have it 'this time'.

She also got sucked into the full protection which covered paint and leather interior. Ill get back to that later though.

Few days passed and the car was ready to pick up. Before leaving we tried to connect her phone to the bt, we couldn't so the sales man tried and he couldn't either so said 'if you still can't get it working later on then bring it in on sat morning. Ok, still wasn't working so brang it back and they said the unit has to be replaced and had to order one in. Week went by, 'oh it's still on the boat', bother week, 'not here yet'. Got a call to come in, went and it wasn't there, ill order it now.. 3 months went by and finally went in to get it changed, waited around and spoke to the sales guy that sold the car to her, she told him the story and he replied 'what boat? There made in Australia'. Car was finished, they handed over the keys and just walked off without a word. Jumped in the car and they scratched the dash next to the radio. They tried to say it was caused by her changing the volume, but the volume dial was on the opposite side, he even scratched it with his finger to prove it but nothing happened..

Took it in 2 weeks later and they kept it for 2 days, instead of replacing it, all the did was sand it back and paint that scratched section..

Out of all this f*cking around all she got was a free service. She handed that letter AFTER the job was done so they didnt skimp out things and he acted weird after seeing the letter..

Back to paint protection, lady said the paint will never chip. So 2k later and 2 weeks later she noticed a chip on the bonnet.. Called up asking to get it fixed and they replied 'you have to pay a $500 access' which they never mentioned when making the deal.

Anyways I think that's it, I have noticed the front bumper has a really light edge of paint on both corners and the paints peeling, I'm gonna live to hear who's fault this on is

Bought my BF from Centre Ford (WA) - no probs at all. Mind you, the age issue is the other way for me........... I get...." You sure you want this really powerful car old fella ???" Cheeky !!!!

I justt bought a FG G6ET from Stillwell Ford at Medindie here in Adelaide and delt with a guy named Dion.

I'm almost 50, was waring old jeans, a T-shirt & thongs (on my feet - before there are any jokes made) and after about 6 or 7 minutes of chatting he threw the keys at me and he and I went for a drive.

I didn't realise at the time what he was doing but he kept looking over at the temp guage and when it hit almost half way, he told me to kick the crap out of the thing.......which of cause I did & after a bit of negotiating, I shook hands and bought it 2 hours later.

He and his manager gave excellent service from start to finish.

I remember reading once that if a person receives good service from someone or somewhere they will on average, tell 5 people where-as for bad service they will tell (bitch to) approx 15 people and now we have social media where it could be 15 million people and yet there are still wankers out there that think that good customer service is a thing of the past.

We have the money, give us the best service possible or me & my money will go elsewhere..........

Speaking of having issues with dealers...

I'm currently locked in a legal battle with a dealer who shall remain un-named who has given me nothing but drama's with exiting a contract LEGALLY. Although if they make things difficult for me, I'll make things hell for them.

I settled on an FG F6 last week which was an amazing car. Initially all was well. Reasonable trade in, my salesman was really good (Just not the used manager or the DP) and all was going well.

Enter Aftercare lady... Came out as sweet as pie, but quickly turned into a snarling, narky, horrid individual that just would not take no for an answer. I felt so pressured and victimised by her that I ended up including a small extended warranty - Stupid I know... As soon as I left the dealership, I was utterly furious about what had happened and it hit me. I rang the used car manager and explained how disgusted I was with the way I was treated. I said if this isn't removed from the contract then I would be going elsewhere (due to a pre-set clauses in the contract and victimisation and ill treatment)

They ummmed and aaahed and said they'd sort it out and to come in the next day. I head in at 10:30 on Saturday where I see the used car manager within about 15 minutes. He throws me the keys to the car and have a look again. He disappears and it's not been over 1.5 hours and I've seen no-one. I walk back inside to return the keys and run into him on his way out to enquire about the contract to which I'm told, "It's a Saturday... We're too busy..."

I'd just driven 30 minutes in traffic to be told they couldn't do anything today... I called and emailed probably 5 or 6 times trying to get the new amended contract so I could sign it and it finally gets emailed a couple of days ago.

I had booked the car to be professionally inspected 2 days ago and it all came back - Except for the tyres. The inspector said they had worn down to past the tread indicators, meaning that they would need to be changed and that they rendered the car unroadworthy.

I had just come from finalising my finances when I called the dealership to inquire about the tyres. My salesman was not there so I left a message. Within 20 minutes the used car dealer called me back and said they were not prepare to change the tyres. He said it was a performance car and that's how they wear, and that I got too good a deal and there was no money left in the car. He also said the inspector was following the book whereas his service team said it was fine.

I said ok and hung up the phone. Next morning I rang consumer affairs and told them about the car being unroadworthy and the dealer refusing to change the tyres. I included a clause in the contract stating that 'an independent vehicle inspection must be conducted to my satisfaction." They said I was more than within my limits to legally exit the contract so I formally explained my exit in writing which I put to the dealer.

The DP then emails me and says, 'sounds like you have a few personal concerns with the dealership," but the "...car is in good condition" He states that they will now replace all 4 tyres and that I can get the car Thursday. I state that I have already 'legally' exited the contract due to the refusal to repair a non-roadworthy car and that I'm entitled to my deposit in full. Consumer affairs stated that as I had exited legally, the dealer cannot then make a repair (after refusal) and claim that I am still legally bound.

If they had just replaced the tyres without a huge fuss, I would have taken the car. I have had to fight tooth and nail for every single friggin' thing with these guys. My old man said, "If it's this hard to get anything now, how hard do you think it will be when you need to make a warranty claim? They will screw you every single time..."

It's now a matter of principle and I'm so utterly disappointed and frustrated with them, that I want nothing to do with them or the car... I can tell they won't let this go without a fight so I'm bracing for legal action to ensue.

The last few lines of my exit letter read like this...

It is both illegal and unethical to try and sell me an unroadworthy car and for that reason I would like this contract to be declared null and void.

I have spoken with the department of consumer affairs and they have advised me that I am well within my rights to terminate my contract and I entitled to a full refund of my xxxx deposit.

I was prepared to buy the car up until xxxx called me yesterday, refusing to repair the concerns in question. I can't believe he would sacrifice the sale of a $xx,xxx car for 2 roadworthy tyres...

The car I've always wanted I now hate. It's lost all excitement and I associate it with what's happened at your dealership... I feel incredibly hard done by and diasappointed - I feel cheated and robbed.

Please do not call with offers to repair the car as now it's too late - I have already cancelled my loan. I do not want this car and I will not be dealing with xxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxx again.

I expect a reply from the dealer principle within the next 3 business days outlining when I will be receiving my refund.

Oh and by the way... This was not a Ford Dealership... Just goes to show you they're all the friggin' same...

If anyone cares how this all turns out, I'll post updates as they happen.

Cheers,

Dan

:spit:

Compassionate cnt aren't we.

Are you a young bloke NVT? Sounds like the sort of stunts they'd pull on someone that looks a bit naive.

Don't you having a cooling-off period over there for used vehicle contracts, regardless of what you agreed to?

Hey Tab,

I'm almost 27 mate - Not sure if that constitutes a 'young bloke' though...?

There was nothing on the contract relating to any cooling off period. First thing I did was review the contract in detail but didn't find anything.

I'm no mechanic, but I know a bit about cars. Done a fair bit of work on the old T, I've learnt a heap from this forum and I have mechanic's in the family.

I'm by no means someone who has no idea. I've had 6 or 7 cars so I'm familiar with buying and selling cars, both through yards and privately...

I was just so appalled and disgusted that they'd try and palm off a car that was declared un-roadwothy by a licensed mechanical inspector. That alone, was more than enough for me to cancel my contract with them.

Cheers Tab,

Dan
