On cars in the past I've removed stock muffs with straight through type (lukey branded). Good improvement in sound and whilst no solid evidence it did seem to make an improvement (these cars were not t's). I'm not keen on removing a muffler and from what I've read it just improves sound. I'm also not able to fork out $$ for a whole system. Would replacing stock mufflers with straight through type make an improvement in sound and flow on the t's?

I did mate and a trillion posts on muff removal but none that I could find that answered my question. Perhaps I'm not looking hard enough.

remove a muffler for sound

it doesn't do anything for performance if that's what your looking for

your previous cars seemed to have a "improvement" after changing a muffler only because its louder.

get a tune for performance

I hadn't mentioned removal. This is the product I'm talking about:

Ford Freank has answered my question anyway. Thanks! I was a bit more naive (and younger) when I did this with my other cars. Probably thought:

Velocity = distance traveled / time x 'Decibels'

Thanks

The cat is the biggest retriction, I found having a bit extra exhaust note from modifying the cat back made the car more of a sleeper (hides the spool noise)
