If we banned christmas this year, maybe 75 lives could've been saved. Ummm, I think VG was responding to a comment regarding the level of police presence at Summernats when he gave the examples of 2 fatalities... You have no idea of my background, my involvement with bikes or anything at all that is relevant.I merely was commenting on what I and many other people travellling along that road at that time of night would have observed. You have a fair bit to learn about the values of a democratic society. You are none the wiser as to why the group was pulled over and are equally ill-informed.

Values of a democratic society are not issues of relevance in this topic. Some guys on bikes were riding and they got pulled over. The reasons may well be in what I previously described but privacy concerns prevent me from going any further.Other people saw some bikes get pulled over. I can guarantee that many of them didnt draw the same assumptions. At the same time you have no idea of my background as it relates to OMCG's. Lets just say I have spent a considerable amount of initmate time on the topic.

I was out getting the dinner just now and one went past me and it deafened me. The cop next to me in the oil burner didnt even notice. I wonder if my T made that much noise would I escape? The stats dont lie:lol: "virtually directly attributable" is a stat!!!I 100% almost positively might believe that! Velvet Glove Team Blueprint Member 532 Member For: 21y 10m 10d Posted 11/01/04 09:42 PM Author Share Posted 11/01/04 09:42 PM Read the front page of yesterdays Canberra Times, or at least try to base some of your invective replies on fact rather than 'boys own' guessing. Lets just say that being a copper I may have quite a deal more of intimate knowledge of things such as fatalities on the roads than you possibly could. You have clearly demonstrated, in the short time you have been a member, that you have issues with law enforcement that you just cant get over.Again I offer you the stats. 0 fatalities over holiday period. 3 days of Summernats, 2 fatalities, one a single vehicle accident in a HSV Late model camira on a straight stretch of road with a 110km/h speed limit where the car left the road. That person was returning home from Summernats. In your clear accident investigative knowledge gimme an insight into what u think happened and what it could be attributed to ? Very hard to say without seeing the car and the accident scene. Could be DUI, could of been wildlife on road that he swerved to miss and ran off the road, could be speeding and lost control (most likely will be the "official" cause), could of been sleep deprevation, could of been a multitude of other other things or a combination of several. I thought the CT photo and article was a bit insensitive given the circumstances. The stuff on Summernats makes an interesting read - would have liked to have seen the Horsepower heros.
