Hi everyone .

I started modifying my 2011 fg xr6t ZF 6 speed auto in october 2012 , since then my car has been to two different tuners and now I am finally happy with the way the car performs with the current mods.

Mods include.

PW surge tank

Id 1000 injectors

PW muffler delete

PW Stepped intercooler

4 inch dump and cat.

Standard cat back exhaust

Factory air box with K&N filter

Standard turbo

The first workshop that tuned my car achieved 336 kw at the wheels on bp 98. After driving the car for a couple of weeks I came to the conclusion that on intial take off the car felt more powerfull but seemed to induce wheel spin with not much control and the difference between half throttle and full thottle was minimal so it only felt like I had the first half of the thottle to play with and after the midrange hit the power felt very flat

I decided to take the car to wsid to see how it would perform and ran a 12.4 at 113mph with a 2.0 60ft

I felt the car should be performing better with the current mods so I decided to change tuners and gave joe a call from cms. I rang cms on monday the 14th of january and they booked me in on the wednesday for a tune on united e85. I got joe to run the car up on his dyno with the previous tuners 98 tune just to see where the car is at on his dyno and the car made 298rwkw.

Wednesday afternoon I picked the car up and joe managed to get 336kw at the wheels on united e85 (which I found amusing because the previous tuner came up with the same figure on his dyno with their 98 tune).

Over the next week the car performed very well and the thottle is a lot more progressive the power comes on nice strong and smooth and is a lot easier to limit wheel spin when taking off as I have more control over the throttle and the car is a lot stronger through the whole rev range.

The following wednesday after picking the car up from cms I took the car to wsid to see what the car would run . It ran an 11.8 at 120mph with a 2.0 60ft , I was getting wheel spin in first and second so with more grip and a better 60ft the time should come down.

Im happy with the power level the car is at for now and I find it very practical for the street and very easy to drive.

^^ this!

Very similar mods to what I was looking at getting done except I was going to go for KPM in tank pump instead of surge and turbo side intake, and no dump.

What boost is it running? How'd the tune go with the dump and managing boost?

Trying to work out if I want to get a dump as well or not

Hi bellato the car is currently running 16psi and tapers off to 12psi in the top end . As far as controling boost with the 4inch dump on the car there were no issues as far as I know

I think with the small turbo you need the boost to come in slowly or it will just turn the wheels.

Power seems right for a hub dyno, but good choice with Joe, he is very capable with these cars.

Just don't go back otherwise you'll have a GTX turbo mounted and be running 10's in no time !!!

Welcome to the forum mate,

George.

Hi George

Joe showed me the boost curves for the both tunes and his boost came on earlier and followed a nice smooth curve on its wat to 16psi. The previous tuners 98 tune was a bit of a roller coaster on its way to 16 psi .

I know you cant compare the 2 tunes directly as a different fuel was used but I wasnt expecting to come away with more power and have more traction on the street as the throttle is a lot more progresive.

Lol yeah I know what you mean I think there will be more mods to come in the future.

I visited joe and asked for mid 300"s

Lol I'm going back in a few weeks for more boost and low 400's :)

He's a top bloke who can't be spoken about highly enough.

Give it a month and a gtx will be fitted :)
