I tried running a pid scan in torque to get the trans temp pid but get an out of memory error after about 15 mins. Emailed the stack trace to the dev. Running it on a nexus 4 so memory is not an issue.

I ran this on the way to work this morning... after a 35 minute drive, the app was still running and I had to turn off the car :/ BUT I hadnt discovered any unusual responses in what data it had either.. bit disappointing

I've read that the extensive pid scan can take a few hours. There is an option to enable fast comms if your adapter supports it. Not sure if that helps

Just tried for an hr with 2 different Androids to connect to my Bluetooth but they wouldn't, rubbish. Ones a Samsung knock off and the other was a 4 yr old huwei thingo. Hoping they're just poo. Doesn't fill me with confidence with the thought of buying a $100 jobo.

Sooo turns out I was too cheap and saved $35 on the GoPoint BT1a and just got the BT that is iOS compatible only. No trans temp monitoring for me then....

Thinking back I do vaguely remember thinking I won't need android compatibility....

So just emailed dashcommand about adding in the ford pids or custom pids. The crap about not being able to specify custom pids because of apple is bs, plenty of apps allow customisation and downloading of settings data, this is nothing more than that. It's not programming or scripting even, simply a lookup table of available pids did what they mean.

Read post #75 of this thread. Open torque, from the first page go to 'settings' then 'manage extra pids/sensors' and enter the stuff in the post I mentioned. Or you can 'add predefined set' and choose 'ford'.
