Bf Ignition Barrel Problem - Need Help

Yep should be fine as long as you can get a column that comes with its key as you need the key to turn the ignition to position 1 to get the barrel out

my BA key seems lose in the ignition, like you go to turn it and it turns freely then finally clicks...been like this for a couple years........im guessing not normal...should I check and make sure the back plate is secure?

Nothing you can do except wait until it lets go mate

Some workshop style scan tools can do this programming

Yeah and some locksmiths have a coder as well

yep, there's a few options these days, my local locksmith who is set up very well with all the latest equipment did not even know there was a problem with the late model fords

True! Our guy is a bloody wizard, duno how but he fixes them

depending on which issues the car has, there is a fix for the return spring issue, but I'm not prepared to do that on a paying customers car as if it fails they will expect a warranty ( and so they should) if they have paid for a job, I'd prefer to do things 100% correct

Weve never had one come back, but if one did our bloke would surely fix it if it was his fault, we give customers both options, $400 or $1500 you can guess which one they choose

So I have started pulling apart the car to try and fix this issue. So far I have the steering wheel off, the plastic cover off the column and all the wires unplugged.

I have hit a snag now as I don't know how to get the steering shaft off the part that I am trying to remove. I have take some photos of where I am up to with it.
