Its purely luck that your question matched these guys standard answer 'its the battery'. Otherwise they really don't have a clue.

Did you have the alternator tested when the battery was replaced.

You said you heard a whirring noise, this maybe the alternator failing.

Current draw test required! 08 fg has smart charge so you have to test the output signal with an oscilliscope. Which is beyond most people. If alternator is failing there will be codes set and battery light on
