thread 10/10

timing of thread 0/10

why the fukkin, when I asked bout malwood, did every reply say they are the bestest and not one complaint? now this thread tells me exact opposite.

I knew not to opt for mal wood when my mate running an opt 3 In his 320rwkw ba managed to sh1t itself and he drove it softer than grandma in her Camry going to church. Also heard other stories that were similar which is why I steered well clear. Pretty sure around 2500 is the going rate for decent twin plates that are gunna handle a decent load.

Mine has only started to play up since i swapped engines, before that I could not fault it.

Also lots of my cousins/brothers/postman mate had one that failed. Not a great deal of first hand experience in this thread. The option 5 is the 3rd mwa clutch I've had and they have all lasted well.

Righto.

Right now I got 2 options. New clutch or auto.

Dont wanna talk bout auto options or auto vs manual bullsh*t, what I would like to ask is clutch recommendations for my next round mods.

-GTX35/82r

-id1000

-pw stage 3 cooler

-pw surgy + 044

-e85 tune.

Bare in mind I run 28" 275 et streets 100% of the time. I do want to be able to launch it as hard as possible on street or track.

Predicting between 400-450rwkw.

Is this torque clamp thing the way to go if staying manual?

Do I send it (my opt3+) back to malwood for trade in on opt6? (will need a lot of convincing to send another 2 grand up there)

IMHO opt 6 vs Torque clamp? Both are race spec clutches opt 6 is porn to look at (but so is the torque clamp). I would be splitting hairs over the price as they both appear to be as good as the other. I'd been leaning towards the TC as I like the no nothing design and the material used as well as the engineering and obvious serviceability of a replaceable pressure plate.

If you want a clutch that will take all you have listed above and SURVIVE imho you need to look at the Extreme triple plate carbon. You'll give up drive-ability but pick up the ability to clutch kit/dump on launch on slicks on demand and it will take it.

last time I saw Daniel and Simon (Cat600) the owner of the 1000+hp kennebell blown TS50 and Simon from XFT's 1000+ F6 they where both running xtreme carbon triples. Shoot Daniel a PM on here and give simon a call, get it from the horses mouth.
