I believe the NPC we did is the same now as it was from off the hoist in all regards its a brilliant kit

Npc said the pickup point will improve by at least 1 inch once it is worn in. Does this make sense?

Maybe a minor amount. As the high spots come off the new plates and they affectively become thinner the pickup point will be higher. But I can't see it changing that much

The clutch only needs 5 to 6mm of movement to fully release. You would have to stuff up spacing the csc to have less travel than that. Imho box needs to come out and somebody who knows what are doing needs to pull the clutch down and check the run out on the plates.

Or just get it nistuned?

Yes I supplied it. I called NPC and they basically said either the clutch was damaged in transport or damaged during installation. They are sending a replacement clutch to bruce and he is going to pull out the old one and measure everything himself (the other dude did the install) until they figure out the problem.

NPC said if it was damaged during transport or defective they will organise something with the mech to make sure I'm not left out of pocket.

Had to drive down there, drive it 10kms, realise I would have no syncros in about a week, drive it back, call NPC to get the ball rolling but they will sort it out now. The NPC dude on the phone basically said he would do everything he could until it was fixed, pretty happy with that service.

edit: Also NPC supply a metal clutch slave not a plastic one, the same as what come with a VT onwards commodore, apparently a lot of manafacturers supply the Expensive Daewoo CSC for the ford boxes now because they are metal not plastic.

Who is "the other dood" you speak of?

Has he worked there for a while or is he new (ish)? And one last question, does his son work for him or does he just spend all his dads money on trying to be a race car driver?

Back to point though....take your time and try not to let the frustration show coz it sounds like all concerned are trying their best.

Trust me I hardly ever get short or angry in person, gets you no where.

Some old bloke about the same age as Bruce called Simon does all the mechanical work these days from what I can tell, unsure how long he has been there, I think Bruce just does the tuning. Both seem like a decent blokes, no idea about his son.

Buttface said they are cheap and good for labour so that was why I chose them.

"Since" u got him to choon your car I felt a clutch install would be the least of the issues to come up and knowingly much cheaper than most in SA

Scotty used to do the mechanical there and was very good to be honest, everyone buggers things up now and then but scotty had a good rep and being bruces direct appy I dare say bruce passed a thing or two onto him in turn making him decent

This new guy I know nothing of so apologies on that front I made the assumption scotty was still there on and off from being a kick arse sprint car driver ( yes some actually make it ) but a clutch kit is really same/same for a turbo 4.0 with T56

Doubtful the extreme clutch kit is physically any different so this "crush" issue I see as a good excuse for a damaged plate orrrrrrrr what I still suggest is a crappy bleed

And iam sticking with that as the issue !

Apparently the extreme kits you don't need to measure the crush as the slave cylinder bolts up quite differently and it just goes straight in. No idea if this is true or not.
