Can we make a note of how much torque people are making because as I understand the dyno reading is calculated from the wheels

where as maximum torque would be going straight to the fly wheel?

^^and if this is the case then I can't see how your 250rwkw SS point is valid as 5-600nm car doesn't compare to a 1000nm+ 350kw turbo falcon

The point I was trying to make, is that if you look at the dyno sheets, the torque of the 6L is around 550nm, and the turbo is higher, but what you are comparing is the 6L at 3500rpm, and the peak torque of the turbo 4L. That's also apples and oranges!!

You really carnt use the dyno sheet for comparisons as people making no power arent complaining who buys a stock fg turbo and puts and option 3+ in it noone

Who has a dyno sheet of a falcon making 350rwkw + and the torque reading this would be alot more accurate but really its not very helpful as they probably have a working clutch if its dynoing over 350kws

The opt 3+ is fine for 350 on the street with street tyres so it would be fine on the dyno. The argument here is they don't handle semis or the track.

And how do you know no one has put a mal wood clutch in a stock xr?

So what do you reckon would be causing the failures mate?

Just how brutal these cars are when launching at the drag strip? Or are most these blokes just crappy at using a stick?

I've read the whole thread and didn't see a mention on how a clutches rating is determined. I'm interested to know if anyone knows?

And what Adam said.. I'm curious for how they are determined..

3 main components determine the holding capability of a clutch. Diameter of disc, disc material and pressure plate clamping force.

Does anyone read anything these days?

Then why are they failing at 100rwkw below the rating I believe is what they wanted to know.

Obvious because of sticky tires.

So why are they rated for that power if a good tire kills them. How can you say 550 but only if you have 245s and don't boost 5th.
