This, the non sprung centre npc/mwa centre plates are very very easy to boink if you aren't careful. (ask me how I know)

I now have 8" long guide bolts to prevent such problems.

Please explain ?

The solid centre plates are thin (guessing around 2.5mm) spring steel. If you gearbox (and therefore) input shaft aren't 100% aligned, or if the clutch isn't assembled 100% centre it's possible to bend the plates. The bend causes clutch drag with obvious consequences.

I have some long guide bolts made up that align the box before input shaft engages the clutch hub to help prevent tweaking the plates.

No, hadon't a minor issue with it dragging due to what I mentioned above initially. But once that was sorted no issues at all.

Did you have issues getting the crush/take up point like the mechanic I am using is? Or is the issue the mechanic?
